Some Helpful Tips
Get the right people to help you - Planning a successful event can be time consuming. Try not to do everything on your own. Share the workload and recruit enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers.
Set your target - Knowing what area of Monash Health you’re raising money for will help determine your fundraising methods and your target audience. Make sure your cause/target is realistic and achievable.
Determine your target audience - A good understanding of your target audience is crucial to the success of your fundraising activity. This may determine factors such as the location of your fundraiser, the time that is to be held and the best way to communicate with them.
Set a timeframe - Set yourself a planning timetable leading up to the event. Give yourself plenty of time to prepare for the fundraising activity and allow for unforeseen circumstances that may delay your preparation.
Determine the logistics - Attention to detail is critical. Ensure you have ‘all bases covered’ and review the logistics of your event.
Promotion - Promotional and marketing material will bring your fundraising event to the attention of your target audience. All marketing material is to be approved by the Monash Health Foundation prior to distribution.
Have fun! - The best part about organising a fundraising activity is enjoying the experience and making a difference at the same time.
